All OCI applications in Canada must be submitted in-person at designated BLS International Centers to provide mandatory biometrics (fingerprints and photograph).
Postal applications will no longer be accepted for OCI Card Canada processing from this date due to the requirement for physical biometric capture.

This mandate update means You can fill the form but Postal applications cannot be accepted, Proper or real biometrics (fingerprints and photograph) is necessary some of the other eligibility requirement for OCI Card Canada are given below-

OCI Card Canada: The Step-By-Step Process

Step 1:- Visit the official Website- https://ociservices.gov.in/onlineOCI/

Step 2:- If you are a new user, create an account.
You’ll need to enter basic details like email and password.

Step 3:- As soon as you register and this form opens, simply fill in all your details here and click on update profile.

Step 4:-From here, you can select(New OCI registration)

Step 5:- Now a form will appear on your screen-Click on apply online button.

Step 6:-Now read the instruction carefully and check mark on” I have read the instructions”. And click on proceed to OCI registration.

Step 7:- Fill Page 1 Detail and click on proceed


Step 8:-Now fill Form Page-II

Step 9:- Now upload your picture

Step 10:- Fill Form B (It includes the following Questions)
- Have you/any member of your family applied for Overseas Citizen of India registration earlier? *
If Yes, give details: - Have you surrendered/got your previous Overseas Citizen of India card cancelled? *
If Yes, Please mention number and date of issue of previous Overseas Citizen of India card - Whether holding dual/ multiple nationalities? *
If Yes, mention nationality and valid passport details - Have you sought asylum (political or otherwise) in any country before applying for citizenship? *
If Yes, please give full particulars/details - Whether the applicant had ever been a citizen of Pakistan or Bangladesh at any time? *
If Yes, give specific details - Have you ever been convicted by Court of Law of any country? *
If Yes, please give full particulars / details - Have you ever been refused entry / deported by any country including India? *
If Yes, please give full particulars / details - Have you been associated with any organisation (Government or non-Government)/ Political party/ Group accused of or guilty of any rights violation? *
If Yes, please give full particulars / details - Have you ever been engaged in human trafficking / drug trafficking / child abuse / crime against women / Economic offense / Financial Fraud? *
- If Yes, please give full particulars / details
- Have you ever been engaged in cyber crime / terrorist activities / sabotage / espionage / genocide / political killing / other acts of violence? *
- If Yes, please give full particulars / details
- Have you ever, by any means or medium, expressed views that justify or glorify terrorist violence or that may encourage others to terrorist acts or other serious criminal acts? *

Step 11:- Now upload your document

- In first Proof of present Citizenship there are three options in the dropdown. You need to choose the correct one based on your situation:
- Cancelled/Surrendered Indian Passport → Select this if you
- have already surrendered your old Indian passport
- Copy of Certificate of Registration of Citizenship/Naturalization → Select this if you have a citizenship certificate (e.g., Canadian citizenship certificate)
- Copy of Present Valid Passport → Select this if you want to upload your current valid foreign passport
👉 Choose the option that matches your case and upload the required document accordingly.
- In second, you want to add proof of evidence- Upload one document

3. Upload any Evidence of sell or parents or grandparents or great grandparents.

Note: Document Re-Upload limit is 5 after which Re-Upload is not allowed. Document View limit is 5 after which view is not allowed.
Step 13:- Now cross check your complete detail (Each detail).
Step 14:-If your detail is correct then submit for final review means Final Submission (approved by government).
